With 10 months to go until the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition and Awards 2014, 85% of stand space has already been sold or reserved, leaving less than 30 stands available.
Next year’s exhibition, the 11th in the series, will be held from 25-27 September 2014 at Smárinn, Kópavogur, Iceland.
National group stands have already been confirmed from Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Norway and the UK.
Turkish shipyard Celik Trans Deniz, Arenco VMK from Sweden and Elcee from The Netherlands will be welcomed as first-time overseas exhibitors.
From Iceland, almost all of the exhibitors from the previous event in 2011 have rebooked their stands, alongside a number of new companies joining the event such as Brammer Island, Bureau Veritas and a new large group stand occupied by companies from Grindavik.
The event will once again be supported by many of the key organisation within the Icelandic fisheries industry including the Ministry of Industries and Innovation, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, The Federation of Iceland Industries, Iceland Responsible Fisheries, The Federation of Icelandic Fishing Vessel Owners, Federation of Icelandic Fish Processing Plants, Icelandic Ship Officers Association, The Icelandic Union of Marine Engineers and Metal Technicians, Icelandic Seamen’s Federation, Icelandic Federation of Trade, Federation of Trade and Services, Promote Iceland and Fiskifrettir.
Other official event partners include Icelandair Group, TVG Zimsen and World Fishing & Aquaculture magazine.
Free-to-attend conferences will run alongside the exhibition and further announcements will be made in due course regarding the conference programme.
The 6th Icelandic Fisheries Awards will be held during the opening night of the exhibition. Hosted by the Ministry of Fisheries and Agriculture and the City of Kopavogur in the beautiful Gerðarsafn Art Gallery, the event will take the format of a Cocktail Reception which will offer excellent networking opportunities for all attendees.
