Goodchild Marine is making a return to the fishing boat market with the building of a new vessel for the Skye Shellfish Company.
The Rorcal 121.PS is scheduled for delivery in spring 2021, can seat four and reach a maximum speed of 13 knots.
“From day one the fishing industry was an important market for Goodchild Marine and we feel now is a key time to give our support to our UK fishermen as we enter the post Brexit era,” said Steve Pierce, general manager at Goodchild Marine.
“The Rorcal 121 will exhibit lots of our usual features, with an emphasis on reduced running costs, environmental impact, easy maintenance and above all outstanding sea keeping. We are hoping our order from Skye Shellfish will be the first in a line of new Goodchild fishing boats for use across the UK and that we are able to expand and adapt our range to suit the business needs of various operators.”
Goodchild Marine managing director, Alan Goodchild, built his first fishing boat for his hometown of Great Yarmouth, shortly after he set up the company 42 years ago.
