IBS Software has donated 500 food kits to the fishing community in Kerala in India as part of its corporate social responsibility endeavours.

The donation was made to the Theerathinu Oru Kaithangu programme initiated by the Trivandrum Corporation.

A cheque for Rs 5 lakhs was given to the mayor of Trivandrum, Mr K Sreekumar, by Mathew Joshua, head-executive relations of IBS Software. Thanking IBS, the mayor said, “It is commendable that corporations with proven credentials are recognising the needs of society and pledging support to the deserving in such troubled times. I would like to thank the management of IBS Software and its employees for this noble gesture.”

Under the Theerathinu Oru Kaithangu programme, the city corporation will distribute food kits worth Rs 1,000 to each member of the fisherman community that has been the most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The fishing community rescued stranded people during the floods that devastated Kerala in 2018 and 2019.
